There will be only 50 of them out there, but it’s just nice to know that the Ford F-150 SVT Raptor Baja 700 is getting the kind of treatment it deserves. Shelby has designed a 700-horsepower, off-road version of the classic truck.
Referred to as the Baja 700, the modded F-150s gets their added dose of power comes from a number of performance-enhancing components. There’s a 2.9-liter Whipple supercharger, the throttle bodies have been enlarged, a Borla exhaust system has been installed, and the 6.2-liter V8 engine has also been outfitted with heat exchangers.
Of course, you can’t put that kind of power into a truck without giving the suspension some treatment as well. Motor Authority reports that Shelby hasn’t divulged specific details on the suspension upgrade, only to say that it’s been outfitted with a “competition suspension.” Senior designer and test driver Vince LaViolette said that the suspension on the Shelby Ford F-150 SVT Raptor helps the truck to “go most anywhere and stand out as it does so.”
LaViolette went on to say what’s rather obvious in light of the Ford F-150 SVT Raptor Baja 700’s specs. That is, he and his team have built “a truck with ultimate performance and off-road capabilities.” You can say that again!
