With the 2015 model year, the Ford Mustang celebrated its 50th anniversary. While that was a big year, that doesn’t mean the Mustang will be taking a backseat for 2016. It will continue to get more exciting every year. 2016 Ford Mustang updates include hood vent turn signals and new packages.
The turn signals located in the vent hoods return as a heritage cue from the 1967 Mustang. They will come standard on all 2016 Mustang GT models. Also making a return are two popular trim packages from the 1960s, the California Special Package and Pony Package.
Ford says that Mustang fans have been longing for the return of all of these features and packages. The Pony Package adds 19-inch polished aluminum wheels, a tri-bar pony logo on the grille, chrome window surround, and a side stripe to the Mustang EcoBoost Premium.
As for the California Special Package on the Mustang GT Premium, this will give you 19-inch ebony-painted machined aluminum wheels, unique door panel inserts, a black pedestal spoiler, hood and side stripes, and lots more.
“Mustang enthusiasts are not shy about telling us what they want,” said Melanie Banker, Mustang marketing manager, in a statement, “and we’re constantly exploring ideas together with our engineering team to develop new features we know our customers will love. These new hood vent indicators for the GT model are a perfect example of us communicating customer feedback to Mustang engineers and the team responding with an exclusive new feature for owners of the 2016 Mustang GT.”
The 2016 Mustang will coming to Mountaineer Ford later this year. Which special package would you love to add to your new Mustang?
