The 2015 Ford Transit Connect van and 2015 Ford F-350 Super Duty pickup have both been named the top of their class in Edmunds.com’s 2015 Best Retained Value Awards, which “recognize the brands and models that have the highest projected private party residual value five years after their launch.”
The Ford F-350 Super Duty won in the Heavy Duty Truck category ahead of the Ram 2500 and GMC Sierra 2500HD while the Ford Transit Connect won in the Small Commercial Van category ahead of the Nissan NV200 and Ram CV Tradesman. These are two of the most popular vehicles among commercial customers at Mountaineer Ford.
Residual value is the biggest factor in a vehicle’s total cost of ownership, which means that high retained values are big bonuses for commercial customers or retail customers interested in leasing their vehicles or trading them in after a few years. Edmunds.com calculated that the Ford F-350 Super Duty retained about 58.5 percent of its value after five years and the Transit Connect about 47 percent, based on an expected 15,000 miles driven per year.
