Ford has always enjoyed giving back to communities all across the United States. With the help of the Dallas Cowboys and actor Denis Leary, Ford continued this tradition by showing a Dallas fire station just how thankful Ford is for its firefighters this Thanksgiving.
The Ford Thanksgiving Day firehouse rehab surprised members of the firefighting team at Dallas Fire Station 43. This northwest Dallas fire station had become run down after years of use, so Ford and the Cowboys’ offensive linemen helped demolish and create a new kitchen and dining area for the firefighters’ Thanksgiving Day meal.
“Today and every day, we’re grateful to the firefighters of Fire Station 43, and to firefighters across the country for their courage and bravery,” said Denis Leary. “The Leary Firefighters Foundation is proud to team up with Ford to provide Dallas with much needed equipment, and to support the men and women who risk their lives to keep us safe.”
In addition to this renovation, the Dallas Fire Department also received a $50,000 donation from Denis Leary on behalf of the Leary Firefighters Foundation. The Dallas firefighters will also receive a brand-new 2017 F-Series Super Duty pickup truck as a donation from Ford.
The rehab was broadcast during the Fox Sports NFL Thanksgiving Pregame Show, which aired before the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Redskins took to the field.
